Composite Edge Bonding

By Dr Nikita Mehta

Close-up clinical view of a patient’s upper front teeth following orthodontic straightening and gum line correction. The teeth show minor unevenness and small chips at the biting edges, captured as a 'before' shot for dental edge bonding treatment.
Before treatment
Close-up clinical view of the patient’s upper front teeth following edge bonding treatment. The biting edges are now perfectly straight, symmetrical, and smooth, complementing the previously corrected gum line and orthodontic alignment.
After composite bonding treatment

After rotating and straightening the teeth with Invisalign, the final touches to the perfect smile were achieved using a composite edge bonding technique.

The final smile involving Invisalign, teeth whitening and concluding with edge bonding was planned during the initial Smile Makeover consultations. The teeth alignment and gum line were first corrected by Dr. Telmo Iceta.

The image you see on the left, is after teeth straightening, gum line correction. The image on the right shows the final smile after whitening and edge bonding to achieve natural looking aesthetic smile, without cutting or removing any part of the patients natural tooth.

One of the reasons why we really like Edge Bonding, is because we are always able to continue whitening the remaining tooth structure and brighten the look yearly.

We do, however, need good tooth proportions and alignment in order to make this work well.
